– Demonstrate in terrain how to row a boat FOR FLY FISHING. Example – Ferrying, boat position, anchoring, casting angles, reading the waters, obstacles, safety, ethics, ETC
– Demonstrate knowledge of driving a vehicle with a trailer. … backing up, dropping, and pulling the boat to/from the water.
– Clear understanding of what the business and objective of a fishing trip are all about. (it’s all about the client’s enjoyment, not how many or how big the fish you caught that day!)
– Clear understanding of the duty of a guide (Clients having fun while you row a boat or W&W while you teach them how to catch fish)
– Demonstrate people skills, read the clients’ personalities, and navigate through the guiding day, especially with frustrated, angry anglers. (… don’t be an ashole or believe you know it all; it’s bad for your tips and my business)
– Be a Chef … clients and yourself need to feed properly out there!
